International Travel, Medical, and Security Information

The Office of International Academic Initiatives is committed to assisting ÇàÇà²Ýapp State ÇàÇà²Ýapp, faculty, and staff with the protection of their own safety and health as they travel abroad to pursue a variety of educational endeavors abroad. The University has contracted with Aetna OnCall to provide a policy which provides international travel, medical, and security assistance.

ÇàÇà²Ýapp State requires all enrolled ÇàÇà²Ýapp to have health insurance coverage either through the University’s plan or through a personal plan. The University plan provides health insurance coverage abroad. Students on other plans should check with their provider prior to departure to determine whether they have coverage while abroad. If not, ÇàÇà²Ýapp are encouraged to purchase an overseas health insurance policy.

All ÇàÇà²Ýapp participating in OIE study abroad programs must enroll in Aetna OnCall through the online application checklist. ÇàÇà²Ýapp State University ÇàÇà²Ýapp and outside ÇàÇà²Ýapp who are participating in international activities sponsored or facilitated through ÇàÇà²Ýapp State University (not through OIE programs) are required to purchase the policy through the Travel Registry.

ÇàÇà²Ýapp State University faculty and administrative staff are strongly encouraged to purchase the policy on any “University-related” international travel.

International Travel, Medical, and Security Assistance Information

The Aetna OnCall policy provides assistance in arranging medical care while abroad and emergency evacuation assistance in the case of natural disasters, political upheaval, terrorism and other emergency situations that may arise that make it unsafe to remain in the location.
